There's a slight sense of something growing near on the ship once they disembark off the Falcon, into the hangar bay. It hasn't been long at all since she was last here, but the war is getting closer.

Pilots are out running attack runs and mocking up plans for possible confrontations, so everything is a bit busier and there's more people around, but when you're just a pair of pilots, in flight suits, with helmets under your arms and a sense of purpose, nobody really cares where you're going.

Being a general might help with that as well.

Han sets his helmet on one of the A-Wings and then starts the preflight.

"Mech droids scanned them earlier this mornin'," but it doesn't mean he's not going to inspect the craft himself, and he knows she'll do the same with hers.

Han attempts to sneak around and come up underneath her like she did to him.

"I'm easy to please."

She accelerates, up at an angle.

"How about you."

Han's in range, but he




"You alright?"

His fingers hover above the trigger.

"No. Of course not."

Sarcasm? All present and account for, even as she flips herself away.

"Just askin'."

She might be able to hear him roll his eyes.

And then he chases again.

He's that close, and being caught
is starting to take other meanings
has never really been her idea of fun, so she sends herself into another barrel roll.

Which ends in her swinging behind him

"You are kicking my ass."

before he throws on the brakes to let her pass.

Yes."

"It's a good sign,"

That's pride (and something else) in his voice.

Han throttles back up.

She's a good little Soviet soldier; she knows how to hold her tongue and not state the obvious.

Instead, she just spirals down.

And he follows.

it's been a long time since he's been willing

But she brakes

and he swears

and turns hard.

She straighens out, still with him on her tail, then tips her plane 'up' (well, 'up' as far as their present flat course is concerned) - up, twist, another twist, and she loops around.

If she's done that fast enough, she should be able to get him in range...

Maybe he's just going easy on her.



"You better think harder 'bout what you want when you win."

"Oh, we didn't agree before? I think the little seat is cutting off the blood to your brain."

A beat.

"And no, it's every time I,"

he turns and the helmet smacks against the shield again.

Then she snorts.

"I heard that."

"Heard what?"

His shoulders are starting to ache -- but he goes into a tight twist, stars blurring in his vision as they streak past.

"Your head. Meeting. The roof."

He goes the other direction into the twist

"Don't know what you're talking about."

"You black out? I can't drag your ass back in."

"I ain't gonna,"

and there are stars
and they blur

Han blinks as he 'levels' out of the spin.


"I ain't used t'this."

"You're a bloody great big tree, and A-wings are for sensible-sized plants."

Beat.

"They don't eat people."

Beat.

"Unless they are very hungry and said people are dead already."
